Chorley Real Ale Trail

Chorley is fast becoming the Go-To Place for Real Ale Enthusiasts.

The town of Chorley was once probably most well known for its markets, which date all the way back to 1498. There are two main markets in Chorley, the covered market which operates 5 days per week, and then there is  Tuesday's Outdoor Market, where on busy days more than 150 stalls line Fazakerley Street, Chapel Street, New Market Street, Cleveland Street and the bottom half of High Street. ​​

However, the markets are no longer the only attraction drawing both locals and visitors into Chorley Town Centre.

As the popularity of Real Ale increases, so does the demand for good places to enjoy a good glass of Ale.

Happily, Chorley Has The Answer!!

Considering the size of the town, locals and visitors alike are spoilt for choice! With two brewery taps - one of which is our very own Ben's Tap and Bottle Shop, there are also several micropubs, 6 true free houses and a wealth of other pubs offering a wide selection of cask ales, Chorley really is the place to be!! All of the pubs listed in the extremely informative Chorley Real Ale Trail leaflet are either in Chorley town centre itself or within easy walking distance, meaning there is no need for a designated driver! It's excellent transport links make Chorley the ideal day out for people travelling to Chorley for a  good drink either via bus or train.

Get down to Chorley for a day out to enjoy some lovely Ales in some fabulous pubs and bars, and make sure your trip incudes a visit to  Ben's Tap and Bottleshop!!, where as well as enjoying some quality ales  both from our own Brewery and rotating Guest Ales, you can stock up from over 100 different beers from our Bottleshop to takeaway and enjoy at your leisure!
